Genestra Bio B12 + Folic Acid is a high-dose vitamin B12 formula with folic acid in a delicious natural cherry-flavoured chewable tablet. Each tablet provides 1,000 mcg of vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamin) and 400 mcg of folic acid. Vitamin B12 helps the body metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins, helps form red blood cells, supports normal nervous system function (it is required for the methylation of proteins that maintain the myelin sheath), and helps prevent vitamin B12 deficiency — particularly valuable for those following vegetarian or vegan diets. Folic acid, taken daily before and during early pregnancy, helps reduce the risk of neural tube defects, and together with B12 helps maintain healthy homocysteine metabolism.
